Body found in Vaughan, Va., is suspicious death, police say

WASHINGTON— The body of a man was found in Vaughan Saturday.

Chesterfield Police said it was a “suspicious death.” The D.C. Fire and EMS Department responded to a call about a body located in the 3900 block of Crisler Mill Road SE and found an adult male lying on a concrete pathway behind a condo building with an apparent gunshot wound to the upper body.

The Yorktown Police department called in the “high tech forensic team” to assist with the investigation and found evidence of gunshot trauma on the body.

At this time, there is no evidence that the death was a hate crime or that this death is a result of a struggle, nor do investigators believe this to be a random crime.

As a precaution, neighbors living close to where the body was found have been asked to remain inside. The family of the victim has been notified and are supporting the investigation at this time. The incident is still under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Chesterfield Police Department at 703-228-2725 or to contact Crime Solvers at 703-748-0660.
