What was the Jackson Five supposed to have been called in pre-show ceremony?
Music’s darling Michael Jackson has the full program for the 45th annual Billboard Music Awards and it looks… well, commercially friendly. Jackson’s comeback show a few years back on Broadway was lackluster, and the public is going to have to find something different this time if they want to avoid a repeat.
The award show will be broadcast from Las Vegas on NBC on May 20, and despite the scandal that sank his last staging it will likely be a raucous pop extravaganza reminiscent of the Jackson 5 Christmas show of yore. However, the parade of items placed into the program shows the decision to go ahead might have something to do with the fact that the Jackson family now no longer wishes to profit from lawsuits or items about the singer being sold. No lawyers for Jackson or the estate are listed in the program so that there is no threat of more fallout over the 1988 molestation and child-pornography charges against the singer.
To further prove his comeback is bigger than bigger than life, there are several Jackson family members being featured in the show.
