On Nov. 26, as reality TV fans tuned in to their favorite shows, some watched their familiar faces, trying to understand why 14 children didn’t seem to be tucking in to bed before falling asleep. Then, in the middle of the episode, Discovery announced that the famous 19 Kids and Counting, hosted by original wives Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar, would end after 17 seasons. With the announcement, fans experienced some nostalgia and met other familiar faces, like son Josh Duggar.
The Duggar’s on reality TV
In 2002, when Josh was 11 years old, Jim Bob and Michelle married and began their family of 19 kids. They started off by living in a one-bedroom apartment and, as the show documented, later on moved into a home larger than a church. As for whom all the kids would be married to, there were 17 girls and 12 boys. Fast forward to the present, and many of the kids would be reconciling with or caught up with their exes.
The main family grew up in Arkansas, but the children traveled the country with their parents when the family filmed the show. According to network documents, the following Duggar members attended school, tried on their first job, and married within the Duggar family. Some of the children already had their own homes.
Prior to moving in, Jana Duggar graduated from high school and enrolled in engineering, her life story is a familiar part of 19 Kids and Counting. The mom-of-three hasn’t appeared on the current Duggar show as a substitute of mother, but she’s surely familiar with the show. Her sister, Jessa Duggar, is currently married to Ben Seewald and the couple shares a son, Spurgeon. Next year, Jessa and Ben will appear on the show Counting On, sharing their wedding story.
Jessica Duggar married Dillon King on Jan. 11, 2016, but she’s not on the current show. She’s got two children, Israel and Meredith.
Josiah Duggar married Marjorie Jackson on Nov. 12, 2018, but is not on the current show. His children are two of the 19 children of Michelle and Jim Bob: Jordyn and Gideon.
